We’ve all done it- changing an e-liquid flavour without cleaning the tank first. Sometimes you get a more interesting flavour when the two different liquids mix, but would anybody really want to vape a mixture of menthol and coffee?

Cleaning your tank is recommended whenever you change flavours. Usually a simple rinse will do, but some vapers go further and give their tanks a thorough deep clean. Here’s a simple guide to both methods

The Simple Rinse:

  1. Fill a bowl with warm water.
  2. Detach tank from mod.
  3. Dispose of any e-liquid remaining in the tank
  4. Completely disassemble your tank.
  5. Place your tank components into a washing up bowl (you might want to put them into a sieve or colander first to ensure you don’t lose any small components).
  6. Wash your tank components in water until clean. If your tank is extremely dirty, a few drops of detergent will help!
  7. Dry off each component with a paper towel.
  8. Allow to stand and air dry for 10-15 minutes.
  9. Reassemble your tank and device.

The Deep Clean – Cleaning Your Tank With Vodka

  1. Detach tank from mod and dispose of any e-liquid remaining in the tank.
  2. Completely disassemble your tank.
  3. Plain vodka works well as a solvent to help break down e-liquid deposits from the tank. Dampen a cloth or paper towel with the vodka and scrub any tough areas until the tank is completely clean.
  4. Wipe and rinse with warm water.
  5. Let stand and air dry for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Reassemble tank and device.

How To Clean Your Mod or Vape Battery

Maintaining your mod or battery is much easier than cleaning your tank. Just make sure that the 510 connection on your mod is free from dirt and e-liquid. You can use a piece of tissue, a paper towel or a cotton bud to clean around the 510 connection. Again, some vapers like to use alcohol such as vodka to help clean the connection. NEVER use water to clean your mod or battery.
