Capella Vanilla Custard (Version 2) continues to be one of our most popular flavour concentrates. In our opinion, Capella is the finest vanilla custard flavour on the market today because it is truly authentic. A rich creaminess and just the right amount of vanilla combine together, to make this Capella concentrate, the most delectable of custards. This version is diketone-free and many DIY mixers prefer to use this concentrate over Version 1.
Capella concentrates are among the world’s finest and enjoy a well deserved reputation among DIY vapers. The Capella name is world renowned for providing a huge variety of great tasting flavours, which are produced with the finest ingredients at their manufacturing facility in California, USA. All Capella flavour concentrates conform to the strictest standards of quality and purity enforced by the State of California.
Mixing Guide
Capella’s Vanilla Custard is great on its own, mixed anywhere between 10% and 20%. The full strength, however, takes a few weeks to steep and really come through – so initially less is more.
The quality of this custard really shines when blended with other flavours. Even mixed at very small percentages it has the quality of rounding other flavours and adding depth and creaminess.
Recipe Ideas
A great starting point is a Strawberry Custard using:
10% Capella Sweet Strawberry (New RF)
5% Capella Vanilla Custard (V2)
The combination of the sharp sweet strawberry and the creamy custard is a great all day vape, reminiscent of adding a dollop of jam into your custard as a treat.
For a softer strawberry, Flavour Apprentice Strawberry (Ripe) works well, but you may have to lower the custard percentage as it may overpower the strawberry.
This custard also works well with many other fruit flavours. Our personal favourites include Capella Apple Pie (V2), TFA Blueberry (Wild), and Inawera Lemon.
You can also add a few percent of Vanilla Custard to TPA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) or Capella New York Cheesecake to really round off the flavours and add more depth. Or combine with the fruit flavours as well for a multitude of cheesecakes.
These are just our rough ideas and the results from experimenting and we are sure you have your own great recipes including Vanilla Custard V2.
Feel free to add in the comments below any of your favourite recipes or tweaks to the ones above. We love to hear from you.
Ingredients
Artificial flavours, Propylene Glycol, Water.
Capella Vanilla Custard Version 1, which contains diketones (acetoin, diacetyl and acetyl propionyl) can be found here.
Notes
- This is a concentrated flavouring to be mixed in a DIY e-liquid. It is not to be vaped without diluting.
- We suggest mixing most Capella concentrates at approximately 15% initially and then adjusting to your personal taste.
- All of the Capella concentrates are PG based.
- We buy gallon sizes directly from Capella (in the USA) and rebottle them into 10ml, 100ml and 500ml bottle sizes here in the UK.
- There can be noticeable colour differences between different batches of the same flavour. This is a natural result of the flavour manufacturing process.

V1 was Nice, this isn’t to far off. Nice mixed with vbic and strawberry

Almost as good as custard can get but not as good as V1. I smoked for 40 years and couldn’t give a stuff about “nasties”. Compared to tobacco it’s not a contest to worry about.

Not quite as creamy as the V1, and definitely needs a good steep, but no nasties, so definitely my go to for custard. I usually add 1% sweet cream or vanilla bean ice cream and 1% sweetener to round it off.

Well worth the wait while steeping. Good nasty free creamy custard., easily vaped on its own or mixed with anything else. Not tried V1, happy with this version. Superb service from Vapable, thank you.

This is the best Diketone free version of custard that I’ve tried. It’s not quite up to the superb flavour of the V1 version but is a great compromise if you want to get rid of possible nasties in your flavourings. Leave it to steep for a few days and the flavour will improve massively.

V1 is slightly better but V2 has better and healthier ingredients (diacetyl free), so if you want a kick arse custard that doesn’t have include diacetyl, then V2 is an absolute must! 5/5 best custard!

Solid vanilla custard taste, never tried v1 so can’t compare but this stuff is good

Please get some more in, amazing substitute for V1

goes beautifully with most fruits / pastry / sweets. does require a full 2-week steep as flavour develops significantly even after 10 days and more. this v2 is the diacetyl etc free version
